Wrapt
Wrapt as seen by the artist. "Wrapt' is a human scaled sculpture, which I envisage as a thick shell which could wrap around a human being. It refers to the human need for protection, shelter and privacy. It is one of the few sculptures I have made with no specific site in mind. The balance between the sharply cut opening and the interior space interests me most. I think that sculpture can create a rhythm in the way that the viewer walks around and perceives the work. The outer wall is more geometric as it based on an inverted cone. I wanted the interior to appear carved or hollowed out if solid matter."
