Welcome to the new Lismore Castle Website. I hope that you will find it easy to use as well as informative.

Lismore Castle has been my family's Irish home since 1753. The Castle is situated in the beautiful Blackwater Valley in county Waterford and commands a superb position one hundred and fifty feet above the river with spectacular views over rolling wooded hills to the Knockmealdown Mountains beyond.

Over the past few month there have been many changes here at Lismore, the most notable being the opening of the Lismore Castle Art Gallery. Inside the Castle the programme of improvements continues apace. On the website there are a number of new images of recently restored bedrooms and bathrooms as well as an amazing new chandelier in the Hall.

In the gardens a new border has been created next to the entrance to Lismore Castle Arts, and the "Candida" walk is now well established.

Lismore town goes from strength to strength. The 2004 winner the All Ireland Tidy Towns competition has again won the Small Towns category in 2005, and is also the Gold Medal Winner of the pan European competition of Entente Florale. With new shops and restaurents continuing to appear, Lismore is an increasingly exciting place to visit.

Despite all these excitements, the Caslte remains a haven of quiet luxury and privacy: Denis Nevin, Head Butler, and his team look forward to welcoming you, either as a returning guest or as a first time visitor.

The Duke of Devonshire, CBE
